BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 9. UNESCO is
supporting Kyrgyzstan in strengthening district education
management through a joint study with national and international
partners, a representative of UNESCO told Trend.
"The study is focused on better understanding and strengthening
district education departments. Using UNESCO's International
Institute for Educational Planning's capacity assessment framework
developed in collaboration with the OECD, the study is exploring
how district education departments are staffed, how they use data
and digital platforms, what support they provide for teaching and
learning and what gaps persist," the organization said.
According to UNESCO, the findings will help develop practical
recommendations for Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Education with the
organization's support.
UNESCO also noted that the study is being carried out with
Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Education and Science in partnership with
UNICEF and with support from the Global Partnership for
Education..
The organization added that the results of the study will
contribute to the development of practical recommendations aimed at
improving education governance at the district level.
Meanwhile, cooperation between UNESCO and Kyrgyzstan has
intensified in recent years as the country continues to implement
international recommendations on the protection of its World
Heritage sites.
The collaboration has included reactive monitoring and advisory
missions, technical consultations, and capacity-building activities
designed to strengthen site management, improve conservation
practices, and support the long-term preservation of Kyrgyzstan's
cultural and natural heritage in line with UNESCO standards.
