BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 10. Uzbekistan's
Fergana region is seeking to attract more Chinese investment in
automotive components, information technology and agriculture as
the region moves to expand economic cooperation with Chinese
businesses.

This was reflected in the statement by the Fergana Regional
Administration following a meeting between Fergana Region Governor
Khayrullo Bozorov and a delegation of Chinese investors led by
Zhang Zhonghua to discuss new investment projects planned for the
region.

The talks focused on expanding cooperation with Chinese
investors and creating favorable conditions for the implementation
of new projects in Fergana.

During the meeting, Zhang, who serves as an adviser to the
regional governor on attracting Chinese investment, said efforts
were underway to bring more Chinese businesses interested in
investing in Fergana to the region.

Chinese investors have expressed particular interest in projects
involving automotive components, information technology and
agriculture, according to the regional administration.

The delegation spent two days in Kuva district, where it
assessed the area's investment potential, available resources and
conditions for implementing new projects. The sides are developing
specific plans for launching investment projects with Chinese
partners in the district.

Information was also presented on investment projects planned
for Fergana district.

Bozorov expressed the regional government's readiness to support
Chinese investors and provide practical assistance throughout the
implementation of their projects.

"The Fergana regional administration is ready to support the
initiatives of Chinese investors and provide the necessary
assistance and practical support during project implementation,"
Bozorov said.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to accelerate investment
cooperation between Fergana and Chinese partners, attract
additional investors and continue joint efforts to implement
promising projects.

The push for greater Chinese investment reflects Uzbekistan's
broader efforts to expand regional investment flows beyond Tashkent
and strengthen direct economic ties between Chinese companies and
the country's regions. For Fergana, attracting projects in
manufacturing, technology and agriculture could help diversify its
industrial base while creating new production capacity and
strengthening integration into regional supply chains.
