BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 10. The Trump Route
for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP), envisioned as a
multimodal transit route, is moving from concept to practical
implementation through a series of concrete steps.
This was reflected in a joint statement by the United States, Armenia and Azerbaijan
marking the first anniversary of the White House Peace Summit.
“The Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP)
— a multimodal transit route — is moving from vision to reality,
with concrete progress such as the U.S.-Armenia agreement to form
the TRIPP Development Company to lead infrastructure development,”
the statement said.
Engineering surveys are already underway in Armenia, while
Azerbaijan has nearly completed construction on its territory of a
highway and railway that will connect with TRIPP in Armenia.
The three countries also support the construction of an
electricity transmission line along the TRIPP route.
The statement also said that the United States had allocated
$201 million to the Trans-Caspian Enterprise Fund to help attract
private-sector investment to the Trans-Caspian Trade Route, or
Middle Corridor, in the South Caucasus and Central Asia.
