A magnitude 5.7 earthquake struck El Salvador’s Usulután Department, the country’s Ministry of Environment said in a post on X.
The epicentre was located 55 kilometres south of Playa El Espino. The earthquake originated at a depth of 51 kilometres, Caliber.Az reports.
No tsunami warning was issued.
