Ukraine is the best security guarantee Europe has against Russia, Finnish President Alexander Stubb said in an interview with Bild.
The president stressed that Ukraine is in a stronger position today than at any other point in the war.
“Militarily, politically and financially. Ukraine has the advantage, and it will win this war... If you live, if you remain independent, if you remain a sovereign state — then that is victory,” the Finnish leader emphasised.
Stubb also made clear that, in his view, supporting Ukraine is an investment in Europe’s own security.
“We have to understand, you in Germany and we in Finland, that Ukraine is the best security guarantee we have against Russia. If Ukraine loses, we lose too,” he concluded.
