Russia does not care whether its elections are recognised in Europe, says Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

“Whether they recognise our elections or not in Europe is the least of Russia’s concerns,” Peskov noted, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

According to him, Europeans’ provocative efforts against elections in Russia have been, are and will be, and Russia is taking necessary measures to counter them.

On 18–20 September 2026, Russia will hold its first State Duma elections since the start of the war against Ukraine.
