Muslim countries have increasingly recognized the need to strengthen regional security through cooperation rather than relying on security guarantees from the United States, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said.
Speaking at a briefing, Baghaei said Tehran did not view an agreement between three Muslim countries as a threat to Iran, noting that the states involved had previously faced direct or indirect security threats, Tasnim reports.
He said Iran had held consultations with the countries concerned and would continue its dialogue with Türkiye as part of broader regional engagement.
“Obviously, Muslim countries have concluded that they cannot rely on the United States for their security and have realized the need to move toward cooperation to protect their security,” Baghaei said.
