Azerbaijan’s Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) has discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in humanitarian demining with the ASEAN Regional Mine Action Centre (ARMAC).


ANAMA Chairman Vugar Suleymanov met with a delegation led by ARMAC Executive Director Rothna Buth, Caliber.Az reports per local media.


The sides reviewed the current state of cooperation between the two institutions and explored opportunities for its further development in humanitarian mine action.


Particular attention was given to the importance of sharing expertise and best practices, as well as expanding international cooperation in the field of mine action.


The meeting also included an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest related to humanitarian demining.


The talks come as Azerbaijan continues to strengthen international partnerships in mine action and promote the exchange of expertise with specialized organizations.


Earlier, ANAMA Deputy Chairman Samir Poladov held talks with a NATO delegation led by Eirini Lemos-Maniati, Head of NATO’s Arms Control, Disarmament and Weapons of Mass Destruction Non-Proliferation Centre.
