Deaths and dozens of injuries have been reported following US strikes in southern Iran after a telecommunications tower in the Kuheštak area was struck on the evening of September 1, according to Iranian media.


According to Iranian television, four people were killed and 35 seriously wounded in the attack.


Ahmad Nafisi, deputy governor of Hormozgan province, said a residential building where a wedding was taking place was also hit. It remains unclear whether the building was the intended target.


Meanwhile, Valiollah Hayati, deputy governor of Khuzestan province, reports that seven people were killed and eight wounded in overnight US strikes on three sites in the province.


The strikes targeted sites in areas around Ahvaz and Aghajari.


The United States has not yet issued an immediate comment on the incidents.
