A passenger bus overturned in Egypt’s South Sinai Governorate, killing 16 people and injuring another 28, Egypt’s Ministry of Health said.
The injured passengers were taken to hospitals for medical treatment, with the severity of their injuries varying, Caliber.Az reports.
The ministry said 20 ambulances were dispatched to the crash site to evacuate the injured and provide first aid.
Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar ordered medical authorities to raise their level of preparedness and ensure that hospitals provide the injured with all necessary treatment, supplies and medication.
Medical teams remain on standby as authorities monitor the situation and coordinate with officials in South Sinai, according to the ministry.
