A helicopter has made a hard landing on a road in the Dolinsky district of Russia’s Sakhalin region, local residents said.
The helicopter landed in a ditch near the village of Takoye, while traffic on the road remained open, according to an eyewitness.
There were no casualties or fire, local outlet ASTV.ru reports.
The circumstances of the incident are being investigated.
According to Sakhalin.Online, the helicopter was an Mi-8 used by the Sakhalin Region Election Commission to organise early voting in remote areas.
The pilot landed the helicopter on the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk–Dolinsk road. The crew, representatives of the Election Commission and local media staff, including employees of Gubernskiye Vedomosti, were on board.
