Georgia is increasingly establishing itself as a producer of footballing talent for leading European clubs, according to an analysis by Footballweek.


The publication said 13 Georgian players currently feature in Europe’s five major leagues, while the total value of confirmed transfers involving Georgian players over the past four years has exceeded €175 million, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.


Footballweek said Georgian clubs typically send players first to mid-level European leagues, where they can gain experience before moving to top-tier competitions.
