Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir visited an Israeli military checkpoint in the Gaza Strip near the Yellow Line, accompanied by senior Southern Command officers.
During the visit, Netanyahu said Israel would maintain its position along the line as it seeks to prevent Hamas from retaining military capabilities, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
“We control the territory and remain on this line. We are doing everything to achieve our goal—to disarm Hamas and demilitarise Gaza. Gaza will no longer pose a threat to Israel,” Netanyahu said.
The prime minister was accompanied by the commander of the Southern Command and the commander of the Barak Division.
