Iran has launched missile and drone strikes against a strategically important facility at a US military base in Kuwait, Iranian state broadcaster Press TV reports.


“A strategically important facility at a US military base in Kuwait has been struck,” Press TV said on September 3.


Smoke was seen rising from the site following the strikes.


Kuwait International Airport temporarily suspended operations because of the threat of further attacks, according to Press TV. Two flights were diverted to other airports.


Kuwait’s air defences are responding to missile and drone attacks launched by Iran, the Kuwaiti Armed Forces said in a post on X on the morning of September 3.






"Everyone is requested to adhere to the security and safety instructions issued by the competent authorities," the post added.
