A third judge has withdrawn from the case against Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II and six bishops, putting the case on hold.
The information about the case being referred to the Court of Cassation was confirmed by the Criminal Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan, to which the case had been transferred from the Armavir Court, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
Earlier, Judge Serzh Rushanyan said the indictment did not specify the location where the alleged crime was committed, making the question of which court should hear the case disputable.
The third judge to refer the proceedings to another court was Vahagn Melikyan.
