The United Arab Emirates will eventually have to restore relations with Iran once the conflict in the Middle East ends, UAE presidential diplomatic adviser Anwar Gargash said.
Speaking at the Hili Forum, an international forum in Abu Dhabi focused on Middle Eastern geopolitics, the economy and security, Gargash said relations with Iran remained a central issue for the UAE and other Persian Gulf countries, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
He said Iran remained a neighbouring country and that the UAE would eventually need to find a way to restore relations where possible, arguing that geography left the country with no alternative.
