BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 6. Azerbaijan's role
is strategically important for the energy security of Europe.

This was announced by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha
during a press conference with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun
Bayramov, who is on an official visit to Ukraine.

"Bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine are
strategic in nature, both in terms of projects already underway and
ongoing, and in terms of future prospects. These include energy,
infrastructure, and humanitarian cooperation. Azerbaijani
businesses have always had an active presence in Ukraine, and we
would welcome further expansion of this presence.

We have a package of proposals for our Azerbaijani friends. We
are interested in diversifying energy supplies to Ukraine. Overall,
I believe Azerbaijan's role is strategically important for all of
Europe in terms of energy security. This is certainly important for
Ukraine as well. We are actively working in this direction and are
confident that we will achieve significant results," he said.

Sybiha noted that Ukraine sees enormous potential for further
strengthening its mutually beneficial partnership with
Azerbaijan.

Furthermore, he emphasized that Azerbaijan and Ukraine play an
important role for each other in the context of interaction with
the European Union.

"It's important for us to develop cooperation with the South
Caucasus and Central Asia. We, I emphasize again, are interested in
developing this area. Today, we discussed how we can further deepen
this cooperation," the minister added.
