BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 11. Uzbekistan is
moving to strengthen the stability of its oil and gas market, with
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev calling for higher domestic
production, stronger reserves and uninterrupted supplies to
consumers amid rising demand for hydrocarbons.

This was reflected in the statement by the press service of the
Uzbek president.

Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation on measures to ensure stable
operations in the oil and gas market and maintain reliable supplies
of natural gas and petroleum products to households and
businesses.

The presentation covered oil and gas production, imports,
processing, storage and deliveries to consumers. Officials
emphasized the need to accurately forecast demand by sector and
region, prioritize the domestic market and strictly follow supply
schedules.

Particular attention was given to Uzbekneftegaz's efforts to
maintain stable natural gas production, maximize output from
existing fields and bring new wells online on schedule.

Twenty-seven new wells are expected to be commissioned in
August, with additional production of 887,000 cubic meters of
natural gas anticipated from the Yangi Kultak, Niyoz, Koratau,
Marvarid and Tegirmon fields.

"It is critically important to establish daily control over
every process, from drilling wells to connecting them to the gas
transportation system, while ensuring uninterrupted operation of
electricity supplies and production infrastructure," the
presidential administration said.

The government also called for more efficient use of existing
processing capacity and a reliable supply of raw materials to oil
and gas companies. Increasing production of products in high demand
on the domestic market was identified as another priority.

The measures come as Uzbekistan faces growing demand for natural
gas and petroleum products, driven by expanding industrial capacity
and rising household consumption. Maintaining sufficient supply
will be particularly important during periods of seasonal demand,
when pressure on the domestic energy system typically
increases.

Authorities were instructed to build adequate reserves in
advance and coordinate the operations of companies involved in
production, transportation and distribution.

Price stability was another major focus. Officials emphasized
maintaining sufficient market supply, aligning exchange-traded
product volumes with demand and reducing production and logistics
costs. Authorities were also ordered to prevent artificial
shortages, unjustified supply restrictions and practices aimed at
inflating prices.

Uzbekneftegaz was tasked with meeting its oil and gas production
targets and increasing liquefied gas output to 606,000 tons by the
end of 2026, up from the previously planned 520,000 tons.

The president also ordered officials to conduct daily
assessments of domestic demand, identify potential supply risks in
advance and take corrective measures promptly.
