BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 12. A magnitude 5.0
earthquake was recorded in Kyrgyzstan on Wednesday, with the
epicenter located 120 kilometers southeast of Bishkek.
The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) released
the corresponding information.
According to the EMSC, the earthquake occurred at 7:14 a.m. UTC,
or 1:14 p.m. Bishkek time. The epicenter was located at coordinates
41.959° north latitude and 75.364° east longitude, at a depth of 3
kilometers.
The seismic event was also located 79 kilometers northwest of
Naryn, the EMSC added.
The source parameters were reviewed by a seismologist, according
to the EMSC. No information on casualties or damage was provided in
the source.
