BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 13. Uzbekistan and the
Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Business Council discussed
potential investments in Uzbek IT startups and opportunities to
expand cooperation in digital infrastructure, data centers, and
research and development.


This was reflected in the statement by IT Park Uzbekistan
following a meeting between representatives of IT Park and an SCO
Business Council delegation led by Deputy Director Yao Jiangtao,
Executive Director of the MOX Project Participation Department Sun
Qi, and Uzbekistan Project Coordinator Jiang Hao.


The sides discussed opportunities for investing in Uzbek
technology startups and supporting their expansion into
international markets. Particular attention was given to the
development of digital infrastructure, data centers, and R&D
capabilities.


SCO Business Council representatives expressed preliminary
interest in investing in projects developed by Uzbek IT startups.
The discussions covered potential solutions in electronic mapping
and mobile mapping services, government information platforms, as
well as transportation and healthcare information systems.


“The parties discussed potential investment in IT startups,
digital infrastructure and technology projects in Uzbekistan,” the
sides said following the meeting.


The participants also explored opportunities to implement
integrated technology projects combining computing capacity, energy
supply and operational infrastructure.







R&D was identified as another potential area of cooperation,
with the sides discussing the development of new technological
solutions and support for the international expansion and export of
IT products and services developed by Uzbek startups.


The discussions come as Uzbekistan seeks to strengthen its
technology ecosystem and attract international financing into
high-growth digital businesses. Greater access to investment could
help local startups scale their operations, develop new products
and enter foreign markets.


Following the meeting, the SCO Business Council representatives
were recommended to continue discussions on potential startup
investment projects with Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Digital
Technologies.


The cooperation could provide additional opportunities to
attract international capital, strengthen Uzbekistan’s digital
infrastructure and accelerate the global expansion of its
technology companies.
