Lebanon’s leaders address Israeli attacks as strikes continue in south

President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam have discussed developments in southern Lebanon, where Israeli attacks continue despite a US-brokered framework agreement between the two countries that calls for a ceasefire.

According to Caliber.Az, citing a post by the Lebanese presidency on X, Aoun received Salam for talks on the Israeli attacks and the destruction of homes and infrastructure in towns and villages across the region.

The two leaders also discussed the agenda of an upcoming cabinet meeting, as well as talks held in Beirut on August 12 with US General Joseph Clearfield, head of the Military Coordination Group for Lebanon (MCG4L).
