Azerbaijan-US trade falls over 20% in first half of 2026

Trade between Azerbaijan and the United States declined by 21.3% year-on-year in the first half of 2026, reaching approximately $467.2 million, according to data from Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee.

The decline was driven primarily by a sharp fall in imports from the US, which more than offset a significant increase in Azerbaijani exports, Caliber.Az reports.

Azerbaijan’s exports to the United States rose 50.7% year-on-year to approximately $57.37 million in January–June 2026. The US accounted for 0.35% of Azerbaijan’s total exports, up from 0.3% during the same period last year.

Meanwhile, imports from the US fell 26.2% to approximately $409.82 million. US goods accounted for 4.91% of Azerbaijan’s total imports, compared with 4.82% in the first half of 2025.
