BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 15. The Ministry of
Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has expressed condolences over the
devastating earthquake in Indonesia.


This was stated in a post shared by the ministry on its X
account.


"We are deeply saddened by the news of the devastating
earthquake in Indonesia, which resulted in loss of life and
injuries.


We extend deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of
those who lost their lives and wish a speedy recovery to the
injured.


Our thoughts are with the people and Government of Indonesia
during this difficult time," the post says.


A powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck eastern Indonesia on
Saturday morning. The epicenter of the earthquake, which occurred
at 05:58 local time (01:58 GMT+4) at a shallow depth near the coast
of Flores Island, was 68 kilometers from the city of Ende, located
in East Nusa Tenggara province. According to the latest
information, the death toll from a 7.7-magnitude earthquake in
Indonesia has reached at least 38 people.
