BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 16. The market
capitalization of companies listed on the Tashkent Republican Stock
Exchange jumped 50.4% in the first half of 2026, while the
benchmark UCI index advanced 46.2%.
The figures were released by the Tashkent Republican Stock
Exchange in its first-half performance report.
According to the exchange, the total trading volume amounted to
6.94 trillion soums (about $578.9 million), while investors
executed 490,365 transactions across the exchange's trading
platforms during the reporting period.
The Uzbekistan Composite Index (UCI) rose 46.24% from the end of
2025 to 1,088.07 points by the end of the first half of 2026.
The combined market capitalization of listed companies reached
428.06 trillion soums (approximately $35.7 billion), representing a
50.39% increase compared with Dec. 30, 2025.
As of the end of June, the exchange's official quotation list
included 154 financial instruments issued by 95 companies.
Trend's analysis
shows that Uzbekistan's capital market continued to gain momentum
during the first half of 2026, with both stock prices and market
capitalization recording substantially stronger growth than overall
economic activity. The 46.2% rise in the UCI index and the 50.4%
increase in market capitalization point to improving investor
sentiment and higher valuations of listed companies.
Trend's
calculations show that the exchange processed an average of more
than 2,700 transactions per day during the first six months of the
year, reflecting growing market participation and liquidity. At the
same time, the average value per transaction stood at approximately
14.1 million soums (around $1,176), indicating active trading by
both institutional and retail investors.
In Trend's
assessment, the first-half performance reflects the continued
development of Uzbekistan's capital market as the government
advances privatization and encourages broader participation in the
securities market. Rising market capitalization, stronger equity
prices and increasing trading activity suggest that the stock
exchange is playing a growing role in mobilizing domestic
investment and supporting corporate financing.
