A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck near Russia’s Kuril Islands, according to the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).
The earthquake’s epicenter was located approximately 303 kilometers northeast of the city of Kurilsk. The seismic event occurred at a depth of about 91 kilometres, TASS reports.
There were no immediate reports of casualties, injuries or damage following the earthquake.
