BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 21. In recent years,
relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have been on an upward
trajectory, and the friendly and fraternal ties between our
countries have been deepening in all areas.
This was announced by the Deputy Director of the Trend News Agency, political
analyst, Sahil Karimli.
According to him, relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan
are rooted in ancient history and fraternal traditions.
“These relations have deepened even further in recent years
thanks to the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and the
President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. It is important to
note that Azerbaijan is a country with significant influence and
standing in the South Caucasus, while Uzbekistan is a country with
a unique position in Central Asia. “The deepening of relations
between these two brotherly countries is a very significant factor
for both our region and our countries,” the political analyst
noted.
Karimli stated that the signing of documents on strategic
partnership and allied relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan
makes a significant contribution to the further development of
bilateral relations.
“It is also worth highlighting the establishment of the Supreme
Intergovernmental Council in 2023. The creation of this Council has
given additional impetus to the development of our relations.
Relations between our countries are gradually deepening in the
economic, political, military, cultural, and humanitarian spheres,”
he emphasized.
According to the political analyst, mutual investments, the
expansion of import-export operations, economic diversification,
and the development of transportation and communication
infrastructure are also contributing to the strengthening of
Azerbaijani-Uzbek relations.
“There are also mutual ties in the oil, gas, and energy sectors.
Azerbaijan’s strategic geographical location allows it to both
diversify its transportation and communication networks and expand
relations in other areas,” Karimli said.
He noted that the importance of Azerbaijani-Uzbek relations was
fully expressed in President Ilham Aliyev’s interview with the Uzbekistan National News Agency
(UZA):
“During President Ilham Aliyev's interview, we once again saw
just how important these relations are. Our head of state clearly
and resolutely articulated Azerbaijan’s position, outlined the full
scope of our relations, and presented a roadmap for the future. I
believe that Azerbaijani-Uzbek relations will continue to develop
on an upward trajectory.”
Furthermore, Karimli emphasized that cooperation within the
framework of the Organization of Turkic States is also of
particular importance.
“Both Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan are active members of the
Organization of Turkic States. This factor contributes to the
further development of relations between our countries. I believe
that the fraternal and allied relations between Azerbaijan and
Uzbekistan will remain unshakable in the future,” the political
analyst said.
