Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi has called Donald Trump's declaration that the Strait of Hormuz belongs to the United States “nonsense” and “a hallucination” in response to a post by the US President on X.

Appearing to imply that Trump was schizophrenic, he said the disorder is a complex and severe psychological condition characterised by impaired thinking and a distorted perception of reality, Caliber.Az reports.

“Its most common symptoms are hallucinations and delusions,” he noted.

On August 22, Trump said he already considered the Strait of Hormuz US territory.

He later posted an image on Truth Social listing the Strait of Hormuz, along with other American territories, as belonging to the United States.
