Azerbaijan has added Iran to the list of countries where its diplomatic missions and consulates operate under conditions of war and armed conflict.

The decision was formalised in a decree signed by Prime Minister Ali Asadov, according to the domestic news agency Report.

The decree also amends existing rules governing guarantees and compensation for employees of Azerbaijan’s diplomatic service working under such conditions.

The new provisions apply retroactively from March 1 through December 31, 2026.
