Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has congratulated his Slovak counterpart, Peter Pellegrini, on the occasion of Slovakia’s Constitution Day.
In his congratulatory letter, Aliyev said that relations between Azerbaijan and Slovakia, “based on mutual respect, trust, and constructive dialogue,” were developing positively, Caliber.Az reports, citing state media.
He highlighted the growing political dialogue between the two countries, noting that “the development of political dialogue between our countries, the increase in high-level visits, and the expansion of the scope of our cooperation have further enriched the content of our bilateral relations.”
Aliyev also pointed to expanding cooperation in the economic, trade, energy and military-technical fields.
Recalling Pellegrini’s visit to Azerbaijan in July, including their joint visit to the Garabagh region, Aliyev said: “I highly appreciate Slovakia’s participation in the restoration of our liberated territories and regard this as a clear example of our friendship and strategic partnership.”
The Azerbaijani president expressed confidence that the two countries’ traditional ties of friendship and cooperation would continue to expand.
“I am confident that the traditional ties of friendship between Azerbaijan and Slovakia, as well as our interaction on both bilateral and multilateral levels, will continue to expand through our joint efforts in line with the interests of our peoples, and that our strategic partnership will be further strengthened,” Aliyev said.
He wished Pellegrini good health and success, and the people of Slovakia “peace and prosperity.”
