A memorandum of understanding signed between the ASEAN Regional Mine Action Centre (ARMAC) and Azerbaijan’s Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) will form the basis for further cooperation between the two organisations, ARMAC Executive Director Rothna Buth said on September 2.

Speaking at a panel discussion during the 4th International Mine Action Conference, Buth said cooperation between ARMAC and ANAMA began in 2024 through mutual visits and an exchange of experience, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

She said the partnership focuses on sharing knowledge and practical experience, building professional ties and identifying new areas of cooperation in mine action.

“Regional cooperation allows countries not to start from scratch in addressing problems, but to use each other’s experience and jointly find effective solutions,” Buth said.
