Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia reviewed the current status of Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) flights to Saudi Arabia, with discussions also focusing on broader cooperation in the aviation sector.

The issue was addressed at a meeting between AZAL Chairman Samir Rzayev and Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Essam bin Saleh Al-Jutaili, Caliber.Az reports.

“We also touched upon AZAL’s development strategy, fleet expansion and the further development of its route network. I believe that our joint efforts will contribute to strengthening air connectivity between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia and creating new travel opportunities for passengers,” Rzayev said in a Facebook post.

The sides further exchanged views on expanding aviation cooperation and discussed the impact of geopolitical developments in the region on air transport.
