Eleven people were injured in a shooting that broke out during a conflict at a birthday celebration in the US state of Georgia, CBS News reports, citing local police.

According to available information, a group of young people had been celebrating a girl’s birthday. After they were asked to leave the rented house, they went to a park.

A large group of people was in the area and holding a party. When a second group appeared across the street, the two groups became involved in a verbal altercation before pulling out firearms and shooting at each other.

Two of those injured — an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old teenager — are in critical condition. The condition of the others is described as stable.
