TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, August 22. Azerbaijani
company Gold Fresh Fruit is launching the second phase of its
intensive fruit orchard project in Uzbekistan’s Namangan region,
Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz
Kudratov said at the fourth Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Regional Forum in
Tashkent, Trend's
special correspondent reports.
According to Kudratov, Gold Fresh Fruit, backed by Azerbaijani
capital, is already implementing a project to develop intensive
fruit orchards in Namangan.
“The second phase of the project is starting these days on an
area of 700 hectares, including the development of logistics and
cold storage infrastructure,” Kudratov said.
The minister noted that cooperation between the regions of
Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan has significant potential in the food and
agribusiness sectors.
In particular, Syrdarya region and Fuzuli, as well as
Kashkadarya region and Beylagan, could focus on horticulture, deep
processing of agricultural products and the production of finished
food products.
The fourth Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Regional Forum focuses on
expanding interregional economic cooperation and implementing joint
investment and trade projects. The forum is being held in Tashkent
and aims to further develop direct ties between the regions of the
two countries and expand cooperation in investment, industry and
trade.
