Azerbaijani customs officials have seized 25.57 kg of marijuana from a lorry carrying onions from Iran to Russia, the State Customs Committee said.
The vehicle was stopped for a detailed inspection at the Bilasuvar customs post as it travelled through Azerbaijan in transit.
Customs officers used a stationary X-ray scanner and a sniffer dog during the inspection.
They found 80 packages of dried marijuana concealed in a makeshift compartment beneath the wooden pallets carrying the onion consignment, the committee said.
