Iran’s judiciary chief Gholam-Hossein Mohseni Ejei has called on BRICS member states to condemn attacks on Iran and pursue those responsible for what Tehran describes as war crimes.
Speaking at a meeting of BRICS judicial leaders in New Delhi on September 5, Ejei urged the bloc’s members to condemn what he described as violations of Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity under international law, Iran International reports.
“We ask BRICS members, first, to condemn the violation of Iran's sovereignty and territorial integrity in accordance with international law, especially the UN Charter,” Ejei said.
He also called on BRICS countries to apply the principle of universal jurisdiction to prosecute individuals responsible for alleged war crimes committed during the two wars involving Iran.
