BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 6. Uzbekistan and
Türkiye agreed to expand cooperation in tourism through joint
marketing initiatives, investment projects and professional
training programs during talks between Uzbek Tourism Committee
Chairman Abdulaziz Akkulov and Turkish Ambassador Ufuk Ulutaş.


This was reflected in the statement by the Tourism Committee of
Uzbekistan.


The meeting focused on the current state of bilateral tourism
cooperation and measures to increase two-way tourist flows by
strengthening collaboration between tour operators, airlines and
tourism organizations.


"The parties reached agreements aimed at elevating bilateral
tourism cooperation to a new level by strengthening partnerships
among tourism organizations, tour operators, airlines, educational
institutions and travel agencies," the committee said in a
statement.


The officials also discussed launching professional training and
knowledge-sharing programs for Uzbekistan's hospitality industry
specialists in Istanbul and Antalya, as well as establishing
academic and applied research cooperation with Cappadocia
University.







The discussions covered joint investment and marketing
initiatives designed to promote tourism between the two countries,
alongside plans to organize business forums and
business-to-business (B2B) meetings to encourage closer cooperation
between private-sector stakeholders.


According to the committee, the agreements are intended to
strengthen institutional ties across the tourism industry while
supporting workforce development and expanding opportunities for
joint tourism projects.


At the conclusion of the meeting, representatives of Türkiye's
tourism industry were invited to participate with a national
pavilion at the "Tourism on the Silk Road" International Tourism
Fair, which is scheduled to take place in Tashkent in November
2026.


The meeting reflects Uzbekistan's broader efforts to strengthen
international tourism partnerships, attract investment into the
sector and enhance its position as a regional tourism destination
through closer cooperation with key partner countries such as
Türkiye.
