BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 6. Uzbekistan and
Kazakhstan discussed measures to increase mutual trade, remove
barriers for businesses and expand cooperation in industry,
investment and logistics.
According to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan,
the discussions were held during the 7th meeting of the
Uzbekistan–Kazakhstan Business Council in Tashkent.
The meeting, held on August 6 at the Chamber of Commerce and
Industry of Uzbekistan, brought together Chairman of the Chamber
Davron Vakhabov, Chairman of the Presidium of Kazakhstan’s National
Chamber of Entrepreneurs "Atameken" Kanat Sharlapaev, Chairman of
the Board of Kazakhstan’s Foreign Trade Chamber Murat Karimssakov,
as well as representatives of government bodies, industry
associations and companies from both countries.
The sides focused on bringing bilateral economic cooperation to
a new level, increasing trade volumes and strengthening business
ties.
Participants exchanged views on the gradual removal of tariff
and non-tariff restrictions, elimination of existing trade barriers
and the creation of more favorable conditions for entrepreneurs
from both countries.
"Prospects for implementing joint projects in the fields of
beekeeping, electrical engineering, construction, high-voltage
electrical cable production, animal husbandry, and the food
industry were also discussed," the statement of the Chamber
says.
Following the discussions, the sides agreed to appoint
responsible representatives to ensure more effective use of trade
houses, increase export volumes, expand direct business contacts
and facilitate the implementation of reached agreements.
