Russian travelers have canceled summer tours to Georgia in large numbers, Armen Gabrielyan, executive director of local travel agency Gabri Travel, told TASS.
According to the director, the company received between 25 and 35 cancellation notices over the summer alone.
“Many people who had made their bookings back in winter decided not to go,” he said.
Some clients informed the agency of their decision just a few days before their scheduled departure.
However, those who ultimately chose to travel to Georgia were generally satisfied with their trips, Gabrielyan noted, adding that the negative information environment did not affect their impressions of the country.
