Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned Israeli airstrikes on Nabatieh and surrounding areas, which left civilians dead and caused extensive damage.
Aoun said the attacks targeted financial and economic institutions serving citizens’ daily needs, as well as hospitals and medical centers. His remarks came after reports that buildings in Nabatieh’s commercial district and the Ghandour Hospital had been damaged, Caliber.Az reports, citing a statement from the Lebanese presidency.
According to the Lebanese leader, the strikes went beyond conventional bombardment and sought to paralyze daily life in the southern region.
Aoun urged the United States and the international community to halt the violations and hold those responsible to account, while stressing that Lebanon remained committed to protecting its sovereignty and the stability of the south.
He also offered condolences to the families of those killed, wished the wounded a speedy recovery, and expressed solidarity with employees of the affected state institutions.
