The European Commission has welcomed ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at securing a lasting peace in Ukraine and said it remains in close contact with the United States on the issue.
European Commission spokesperson Christian Wigand said the EU supports diplomatic initiatives seeking to establish what it described as a just and lasting peace in Ukraine, Caliber.Az reports via Ukrainian media.
Wigand said Brussels was maintaining regular contact with Washington, as well as with other partners involved in efforts to advance a potential peace settlement.
He described the recent visit by U.S. negotiators to Kyiv as part of the broader diplomatic process aimed at ending the conflict.
